The Lynwood Public Works Department has been busy working to keep the City’s streets and alleys clean and safe.

If you live on Woodlawn Ave., you will notice the work done by Public Works crews to remove and replace damaged sidewalks due to tree roots. Not only did 55 feet of damaged sidewalks need to be replaced, crews first had to remove the large tree roots. This work allows residents to walk safely on their street without worrying about stepping over bulging sidewalks.

  • More than 95 miles of daily clean-up of Lynwood streets and alleys, which includes clearing dumped debris and bulky items.
  • Clearing weeds throughout the City including Atlantic and Pope alleys, Fernwood Avenue, Edgebrook Avenue, Imperial Hwy and Fernwood lot.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing City Hall to ensure the both visitors and employees have a safe environment.
  • Emergency removal of 11’ section of damaged median wrought iron divider section (struck by vehicle) at Imperial Hwy and Jackson.
