Lynwood's Residents And Workers Get Vaccinated! Original Text

About 1,000 Lynwood residents and people who work in the city received a COVID-19 vaccination at St. Francis Medical Center yesterday. Lynwood City Councilmember Jose Solache kicked off the mass vaccination event by getting his first shot.

“It was a relief to get my first COVID-19 vaccine,” said Councilmember Solache. “Now I know that I am on my way to being protected from this virus that has wreaked havoc on my community including my own family.”

Yesterday’s vaccine clinic was dedicated to those who live and work in Lynwood, which is one the communities in the region hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Starting April 1, Californians 50 and older will be eligible to receive a vaccine. Californians 16 and older will be eligible on April 15.

It is important that everyone getting vaccinated as it will protect you and help you from getting COVID-19. It is also an important tool to help stop the pandemic and allow our lives and businesses to return to normal.

Until everyone is vaccinated, it is still important to practice safety protocols including wearing a mask and keeping a distance of at least six feet from other people.
