Man Shot, Killed in Compton Park
Compton deputies were flagged down by someone who told there was a man who was shot in the park.

COMPTON, CA - A man was shot and killed in a park in Compton and sheriff's homicide detectives were at the scene Saturday morning investigating the killing.
The attack in the 1500 block of East Rosecrans Avenue was reported at 9:50 p.m. Friday, according to Deputy Trina Schrader said.
Compton deputies were flagged down by someone who told there was a man who was shot in the park, Schrader said. Deputies located the man who was laying in the grass.

The victim was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, sheriff's homicide Lt. Steve Jauch said. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
A motive for the attack was unknown, according to Jauch.

No suspect information was available.
