Median Home Prices Increase in South Gate
South Gate median home increased from May 2011 to May 2012, according to DataQuick.
The median price of a home in South Gate this past May was $231,500 up from the 229,000 of May 2011.
That's according to real estate-tracking firm Data-Quick, which shows a price jump of 1.09 percent this past May for South Gate, in comparison to the same month a year ago.

However, home prices did drop in the Los Angeles Country region by 1.54 percent over this same period. The median home price for May 2012 in Southern California rose to $295,000 from $280,000 in May 2011.
All based on the total of 7,578 homes changed hands in the Los Angeles County area during May.

At the state level, the median price of a home in California in May was listed at $270,000, up from the $264,000 in April. Showing a slight increase from a month to month point of view overall.
