Police Arrest Resident For Grand Theft Auto

The stolen vehicle was spotted on Rayo Avenue.

At approximately 9:00 a.m. a patrol officer of the South Gate Police Department (SGPD) spotted a 1992 Honda Accrod on Rayo Avenue near its cross street with Southern Avenue.

“A routine check on the license plate indicated that the vehicle was reported stolen,” said Captain Keith Hupp of the SGPD.

The vehicle went missing in East Los Angeles on August 1st and two male occupants were in the car.

“A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle was arrested,” said Capt. Hupp.

The driver, a 22 year old South Gate resident whose name has not been released, was arrested and is being investigated in connection with the vehicle theft.
