Police Find Vehicle that was Possibly Involved in Local Kidnapping
One suspect is in custody.

The South Gate Police Department (SGPD) reports that officers have found the orange Cadillac that was possibly involved with the June 7th kidnapping of a 17-year-old male in South Gate Park.
“Utilizing departmental resources, South Gate Police Officers were able to locate a possible suspect vehicle,” police said in a statement. “During the course of their investigation, detectives were then able to identity one of the suspects, who has since been linked to five separate robberies in the South Bay area.”

The teenager was kidnapped with while walking on Tweedy Boulevard near South Gate Park. He was treatened with a knife, brought inside the orange vehicle, robbed of his valuables and thrown out of moving car on the 9200 block of California Avenue.
“The victim was transported to a local area hospital, where he was treated for his wounds and released,” Police said.

The SGPD has been working closely with detectives of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) on this investigation. The agencies were successful and have a criminal filing on one of the identified suspects involved.
The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office has already filed two counts against the suspect: Kidnapping with intent to commit robbery and robbery.
There is currently only one known suspect in custody.
