
This morning, at around 9 a.m., the South Gate Police Department (SGPD) arrested Enrique Canchola Jr., 25, of Norwalk after he allegedly attempted to steal goods from the 7-Eleven store on Missouri Avenue and State Street.
“An officer saw [Canchola] run out of the store,” said Sgt. Tim Williams of the SGPD. “One suspect ran away.”

Canchola, who the SGPD described as homeless, was allegedly caught by the SGPD officer with an 18 pack of beer, a bag of dog food and a monster drink. The goods that were allegely found on him have been returned to the 7-Eleven.
The SGPD also stated that surveillance videos would help them identify and arrest the second suspect who managed to get away, said Sgt. Williams.

Canchola is currently being held on burglary charges at the South Gate Police Station.
