Reward Offered for Tips on Killer of Willowbrook Man

Kejon 'Wayne' Atkins was standing on a sidewalk in Willowbrook when he was shot multiple times

LOS ANGELES, CA - A $10,000 reward was being offered Monday for information leading to the conviction of whoever fatally wounded a 22-year-old man in a drive-by shooting in the unincorporated Willowbrook area last summer.

Kejon "Wayne" Atkins was standing on a sidewalk in the 1800 block of East 126th Street, near Wilmington Avenue, on July 23 when several shots were fired from a car, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Atkins, who was struck in the head, was taken to a hospital, where he died four days later, Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez of the Sheriff's Information Bureau said.

Two suspect vehicles -- one a gold older-model, four-door sedan and the other a maroon Pontiac Aztec that was possibly two-toned with a gray lower half -- were seen heading south onto Wilmington Avenue and then west onto El Segundo Boulevard, Navarro-Suarez said.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved the reward money.
