Sheriff's Deputy Injured During Lynwood Chase

The deputy crashed while chasing a suspected drunk driver.

LYNWOOD, CA – A sheriff's deputy was injured Monday in Lynwood while chasing a suspected drunk driver. The deputy's vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by a civilian, but the person wasn't injured and it was reported about 9:15 p.m. in the area of Bullis Road and Palm Avenue, according to the Sheriff's Information Bureau. It wasn't immediately clear if the driver the deputy was chasing was stopped.

The deputy was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were deemed not to be life-threatening, authorities said.
