SIDEWALK CPR - FREE HANDS-ONLY CPR CLASS FOR COMMUNITY
You can save the life of a loved one by learning Hands-Only CPR
In honor of National CPR Week June 1-7, St. Francis Medical Center in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Agency is offering free Hands-Only CPR classes to the community. What: Free Hands-Only CPR – “Sidewalk CPR” When: Thursday, June 2, 2016 Session 1: 10:30 am – 11:00 am (English) Session 2: 11:00 am – 11:30 am (Spanish) Session 3: 11:30 am – 12:00 noon (Spanish) Session 4: 12:00 noon – 12:30 pm (English) Where: St. Francis Medical Center 3630 E. Imperial Highway, Health Services Pavilion, Terrace Level Classroom Lynwood, CA 90262 Why: According to the American Heart Association, 70 percent of cardiac arrests (heart suddenly stops beating) occur at home. Only about 10 percent of cardiac arrest victims outside the hospital setting survive. Immediate and effective CPR can more than double a victim’s chance of survival. Administering CPR could save the life of a family member or other loved one. How: To register for a session, please call St. Francis Medical Center’s Education Department at (310) 900-8522. CPR instructors will demonstrate the proper techniques of Hands-Only CPR, and participants will have the opportunity to practice on mannequins. The training will not result in CPR certification, but information on how you can get certified will be available.
