South Gate Chamber of Commerce Elects Board of Directors
The new board was sworn in at the 2012 Chamber of Commerce Installation & Awards ceremony.

This past month, on July 12, 2012, the South Gate Chamber of Commerce presented its new board of directors, for 2012-2013, during this year's Chamber of Commerce Installation & Awards.
New board members expressed a lot of excitement, with some even emphasizing the positive influence that the chamber has had on their business.

According to Sara Rodriguez, 29, a state farm agent and owner of franchise on Tweedy Boulevard, the South Gate Chamber of Commerce is a “gateway” to South Gate.
“[The chamber] is our resource center,” said Rodriguez, who was sworn in as a board member during this event. “We go there if we need anything.”

Networking with other local business people, sharing ideas, and getting help when coordinating for business related events, were some of the ways that the chamber has helped Rodriguez as she continues to works towards growing her business.
Other recently appointed members, such as Rishi Gill, 31, owner of 7-Eleven store on Missouri Avenue and State Street, was already looking forward to working with the chamber in his new role.
“I’m excited to be here, participating and getting involved,” said Gill, who is now Vice-President of the South Gate Chamber of Commerce.
