Much has changed in the past week to reopen businesses and services and jump start our economy. But, as more establishments open, we must stay vigilant in our safety practices to make sure our community is safe. The numbers of positive cases continue to rise with the County of Los Angeles reporting 645 positive cases of COVID-19 in Lynwood (there are nearly 56,000 cases in the County).

VISITING CITY HALL

As you know Lynwood City Hall reopened last week. Appointments are now necessary when visiting Lynwood City Hall – even if you want to pay your utility bill.

When you visit any City office on your appointment time, expect the following to happen:

  • A temperature check with an infrared thermometer will be conducted. If your temperature is over 99.0 degrees, you will not be admitted.
  • You must wear a mask at all times. One will be provided if you don’t have one.
  • You must practice safe distancing. There will be signage on the floor to help with compliance.
  • You must use hand sanitizer when entering the building. We will have sanitizer available.
  • Your shoes will be disinfected upon entering.
  • LYNWOOD BUSINESSES ARE OPEN
    All retail establishments, including those in indoor and outdoor shopping centers, can open for business at 50% capacity; flea markets and swap meets can also resume operations subject to the social distancing requirements outlined in the City’s previous Orders. Religious and faith-based organizations can operate in-person services at 25 percent capacity or a maximum of 100 people and restaurants can allow customers inside their businesses for dine in service subject to local county approval. Additionally, barber shops as well as hair and nail salons are now permitted to operate in Lynwood and are required to follow state guidance.

    Pools, hot tubs and saunas that are in a multiunit residence or part of a homeowners association can open.

    St. John’s Well Child & Family Center is offering COVID-19 testing every in Lynwood every Monday in June. You need to make an appointment for a test.

    There are governmental and community resources to help residents with rental assistance, food assistance, small business assistance, health and mental health services and general assistance.     GENERAL SAFETY REMINDERS:
    Wear a mask while out in public.
    Maintain social distancing of at least six feet apart.
    It is always safer at home during this time.
