The City of Lynwood thanked and bid farewell to Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Commander Kerry Carter, who served as Captain of Century Station for the past five years. He was recently promoted from the rank of Captain to Commander and transferred to the East Patrol Division Administration.

At last night’s City Council meeting, Mayor Marisela Santana and the entire City Council presented Commander Carter with a City of Lynwood street sign and plaque to honor his service to the City.

“You were always there to provide support,” said Commander Carter to the City Council. “Together, we were all able to be successful.”

The City Council also welcomed Captain Yolanda Figueroa, who is now leading Century Station. She is a 26-year veteran of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department and has previously worked at Century Station. Welcome back Captain Figueroa!
