Traffic Accident Injures Pedestrian

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital.

Last night, at approximately 8:40 p.m., a pedestrian was struck by a car at the intersection of Otis Street and Dwayne Way in South Gate.

“The person did sustain injuries and was transported to the hospital,” said Lieutenant Jim Teeples of the South Gate Police Department (SGPD).

The SGPD told South Gate Patch Latino that the driver involved in the crash does not appear to have been under the influence of any legal or illegal substance. Further adding that as of now their appears to be no foul play. 

“There is no indication of alcohol or drugs,” said Lt. Teeples, who added that the investigation still ongoing. ”The driver was not arrested.”
