Victim of Recent Hollydale Homicide Identified

Manuel Hernandez was a resident of Bellflower.

The man shot to death in the 6100 block of Nevada Avenue, on August 25, 2012, in the Hollydale neighborhood of South Gate was officially identified as Manuel Hernandez, a 27-year-old resident of Bellflower.

Hernandez was gunned down while standing in front of a residence where  a social gathering was taking place.

“There was a party at that location and the victim was standing outside when he was approached by three male Hispanics,” said Lieutenant Holly Francisco, of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau, “Words were exchanged, and one of the suspects or suspects began shooting at the victim.”

The suspects ran from the scene shortly after the alleged shooting and Hernandez collapsed after sustaining several gunshot wounds. He was declared dead by a nearby hospital at 4:57 a.m.

Investigators on the case believe that the shooting was a gang related incident.
