Woman Fatally Shot in Lynwood ID'd as Shantel Wilson
The victim and two other people were sitting inside the parked car when a gunman drove by and shot several times into their car.

LYNWOOD, CA -- The coroner's office Monday released the name of a woman fatally shot in Lynwood while sitting in a parked car with a man who was critically wounded.
Shantel Wilson, 46, was a Lynwood resident, according to coroner's Lt. Larry Dietz. The shooting was reported around 11:35 a.m. Wednesday in the 11400 block of Copeland Street, said Deputy Lisa Jansen of the Sheriff's Information Bureau.
The victims and another woman were sitting inside the parked car when a gunman in a black vehicle drove alongside them and shot several times into their car before driving north on Copeland Street, Jansen said.

The man who drove the parked car attempted to drive to the hospital but crashed into another vehicle, Jansen said.
The victim now identified as Wilson and the man were taken to a hospital, where Wilson was pronounced dead, Jansen said. The other woman passenger was not hurt.
