SOUTH PASADENA, CA — Local high school senior Sasha Levie was selected as one of 10 finalists in A Noise Within's annual Teen Monologue Festival, the South Pasadena Unified School District announced Wednesday.
Levie was among 12 students from the South Pasadena High School's drama program who submitted entries. The festival drew participation from 180 Southern California students in grades nine through 12.
Her finalist performance Tuesday evening was on the A Noise Within stage at 3352 E. Foothill Blvd. The event was free and open to the public, and school district officials said South Pasadena High School drama teacher Nick Hoffa encouraged students to participate.
Levie will also appear alongside fellow drama students in the school's production of "Rio Hondo" at the Little Theater.
Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Nov. 6, 7, 13 and 14, and 2 p.m. Nov. 15. Tickets and show information are available at southpasdrama.com.
