SOUTH PASADENA, CA — The American Red Cross has scheduled a blood drive later this month in the Library Community Room.
Residents can donate blood from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 18 at 1115 El Centro St. adjacent to the South Pasadena Public Library.
Donors can schedule an appointment at RedCrossBlood.org by entering sponsor code SOPASLIB, according to an announcement from the city.
According to the Red Cross, the blood supply in the Los Angeles region "remains vulnerable after recovering from critically low levels" during a shortage last summer. Donors of all blood types are needed to help patients who depend on blood products for care.
On the day of the drive, donors can complete required reading and health history questions through RapidPass before arriving, potentially saving up to 15 minutes.
