On Monday, June 18, 2012, the SPLL American League Champion Orioles played for the District 18 Tournament of Championship game against the Highland Park Shockers at Live Oak Park in Temple City. Combined by a relentless attack from the mound from Michael McGrath and strong hitting led by Noah Takeda-Teer, the Shockers had no answers for the Orioles.
McGrath recorded 12 strike-outs, with 7 in a row in the 2nd,3rd and 4th inning. He was the only pitcher for the Orioles to take the mound during the game, giving up only two hits over five shutout innings.
Consistent team hitting from Lucien St. Vaughn, McGrath and Takeda-Teer led the way to strategic scoring from David Newhall, Hayden Draper and Nolan
Call.
