SOUTH EL MONTE, CA — Some lucky lottery player in the San Gabriel Valley is carrying a Mega Millions ticket worth $2.5 million.

The ticket was sold at Home Mart on Garey Avenue and is worth $2,510,032, the California Lottery announced. Check your ticket for these numbers drawn Tuesday: 9, 21, 34, 42, 50 and the Mega number 21. The estimated jackpot was $418 million.

It's one of four tickets sold nationwide with five of the six winning numbers but missing the Mega number.

California law requires major payoffs of lottery games to be paid on a pari-mutuel basis, meaning the payoff is determined by the size of the pool instead of a fixed amount.

There were no tickets sold with all six numbers and the estimated jackpot for Friday's drawing will grow to an estimated $444 million.

The drawing was the 22nd since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number are 1 in 302,575,350, according to the California Lottery. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24.
