Blog: Performance to Support the Victims of Family Violence

A special performance of "The Innocence of Father Brown" this Saturday, April 20 will benefit the Good Shepherd Shelter for Battered Women with Children.

The Guild of the Good Shepherd Shelter for Battered Women with Children will be hosting an evening at the Fremont Centre Theatre in South Pasadena to benefit the Shelter THIS Saturday evening, April 20th, and they would love it if you'd consider joining them!

"The Innocence of Father Brown," by Patrick Rieger, is a new adaptation for the stage of the famous detective stories by G.K. Chesterton.  It tells the tale of a simple, unassuming Catholic priest who has a knack for solving mysteries in his English village. Unlike the more famous English detective, Sherlock Holmes, Father Brown’s methods tend to be intuitive rather than deductive.  His apparent naivete and crumpled appearance disguise a playful wit and a razor-sharp intellect. But his greatest strength - both as a priest and as a detective of crime - is his love and understanding of other people. He’s not there to judge, but to save souls.

The play is receiving rave reviews!  Here's one that appeared in the Daily Trojan last week:   http://dailytrojan.com/2013/04/10/father-brown-creates-dynamic-who-done-it-mystery/

A hosted cocktail reception will follow the performance, with a chance to socialize with other Shelter supporters and to "meet and greet" the show's cast and crew.

The following is a link to purchase tickets for Saturday’s event.  The link also contains additional event information - and the option to make a donation in the event you are unable to attend the performance, but would still like to help the families who call the Shelter “home”.
