Patch Blog: A Big Hit, Goodbye Martinez Bill

We do need to congratulate the current sitting council, city manager, and whoever was involved in getting South Pasadena this victory after many years of defending town from a freeway.

This is an election year, and competition brings out focus on misses. But let's give credit where it is due. Let's stop and pause and savor this victory. Let's not taint it with tunnel talk as if this were imminent. Yes, it's important and we'll get around to that conversation in due time.

Great teamwork Rick, Phillip, Michael, Mike and David! Congratulations Maryann, Clarice, Alice, Joanne, Bea and many others for never giving up. Let's all raise a glass of champagne and drink a toast to a true South Pasadena victory!
