Consumer Alert / SB 750 Special Interest Bill 

Special Interest Bill SB 750 is crafted to benefit the foreign car company BMW, while it constricts consumer choice and a competitive marketplace for automotive services. This bill allows BMW to keep its secret “key codes” so no one can produce their keys. The "key code" is used to fix most things on vehicles, as most items on the cars today are electronic and safety related.  

All the other car companies now comply with regulations which mandate key code availability to licensed users like locksmiths and independent  repair shops. 

If passed, other car makers could jump on board, and use this legislation to steer all repairs into the car dealerships. This would eliminate consumers’choice on where to have their vehicle serviced.  Auto repair costs could sky rocket and the consumer is left with no choice besides the dealership. 

Ask California legislators to stop SB750, which only benefits BMW.
