With the ever changing demographics of America comes a new landscape of
storytelling. Told from the point of view of biracial and multicultural voices,
who have grown up caught between cultures “negotiating the heat and flow of the
melting pot,” re:MiX’T (A MULTICULTI MASH-Up) by kate rigg explores mixed
identity through monologues, scenes, and theatrical musings which “move to the
beat of the hybrid heart.”

“re:MiX’T (A MULTICULTI MASH-Up) explores the lives and struggles of
biracial and multiracial stories that are seldom told and yet they are one of
the largest growing demographics in the United States,” says EWP Producing
Artistic Director Tim Dang. “This touring production reflects our
commitment to utilize the performing arts as a tool to teach students about our
changing landscape and how the arts can be an important tool in uniting a community. This tour is especially important at this time when so many schools are cutting back on arts education. We are so thankful to Southern California Edison for this partnership.”
East West Players, located in Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo, it is committed to
teaching American history, diversity and respect for many different cultures.
EWP’s Theatre for Youth Touring Production has toured Southern California since
