A suspected car thief led the CHP on a chase before crashing Garfield Avenue and fleeing on foot.

SOUTH PASADENA, CA — California Highway Patrol officers Thursday chased a stolen car in the Alhambra area that ended with a crash on Garfield Avenue.

Officers began chasing the car, which had no license plates, shortly before 8 a.m. when they saw it being driven erratically on the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway near Fremont Avenue, said CHP Officer Siara Lund.

The car exited the freeway a short time later, and crashed on Garfield Avenue, where the occupants got out and ran off.
