DUI Checkpoints Around South Pasadena this Weekend

Los Angeles police and sheriff's deputies have scheduled a series of DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols around LA Sept. 16-18.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- Los Angeles police and sheriff’s deputies will be on the lookout for intoxicated drivers throughout the weekend with a series of DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols.

“Over the past three years, there have been 7,048 DUI-related traffic collisions in Los Angeles, which have resulted in 60 fatalities and 2,818 injuries,” according to a statement by the Los Angeles Police Department. “If you are planning a gathering or celebration with alcohol included, or if you are out on the town, plan ahead and designate a non-drinking sober driver. A DUI or drug-impaired arrest can costs up to $10,000 or even more, including time in jail, the loss or your driver license and high insurance rates.”

DUI Checkpoints and Saturation Patrols

Friday

  • DUI Saturation Patrol in Pacific Area – 6 P.M. to 2 A.M.
  • DUI Saturation Patrol in Wilshire Area – 6 P.M. to 2 A.M. in the Central Bureau area
  • DUI/Driver License Checkpoint at Rosecrans Avenue at Menlo Avenue– 7 P.M. to 2 A.M.
  • DUI/Driver License Checkpoint at Hollywood Boulevard at Gower Street – 8 P.M. to 2 A.M.
  • DUI/Driver License Checkpoint at Imperial Highway at Main Street –8 P.M. to 1 A.M.

Saturday

  • DUI/Driver License Checkpoint at Van Nuys Boulevard at Roscoe Boulevard, Panorama City – 8 P.M. to 2 A.M.

Sunday

  • DUI Saturation Patrol in the Foothill Areaa – 5 P.M. to 1 A.M.

Bike-Pedestrian Safety Enforcement

Friday

  • Police will patrol areas where bike and pedestrian traffic collisions occur in Santa Monica – 6 A.M. to 5 P.M.

Monday

  • Police will patrol areas where bike and pedestrian traffic collisions occur in Santa Monica – 6 A.M. to 8 P.M.
