CHP Teams Up with Automobile Club of Southern California to Host Car Theft Prevention Event
CHP, Southern Division; the Automobile Club of Southern California; the Burbank Police Department and the National Insurance Crime Bureau are combining their efforts to thwart vehicle theft by hosting a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) car window etching event at the auto club's Burbank branch office.
This event is aimed at raising consumer awareness of vehicle theft and to stop car thieves. Etched windows make a stolen vehicle easier to trace, and deter car thieves who would need to replace VIN-etched windows.
Law enforcement officers will also offer tips on how to prevent vehicle theft and burglaries. This free event is open to the general public and no auto club membership is required.
