The Pasadena Buddhist Temple welcomes all to attend this "Celebration of Joy" in gratitude to all of our predecessors who have enabled us to enjoy the life we live today. Our Obon Festival centers around the Bon Odori (Obon Dances). Everyone is invited to join in to "just dance" and be accepted as we are. Dancing starts at 6:30 pm. On Sunday, there will be a tea ceremony performed in the Temple garden at 4:15 pm.
In addition to the dancing, there will be food booths, martial arts demonstrations, exhibits of bonsai and ikebana (flower arranging), craft vendors, a silent auction featuring some Japanese antiques, Bingo, and taiko (Japanese drum) performance by Taiko Center of L.A. The temple sanctuary will be open for viewing and tour from 5:30-6:30. Rev. Lee Rosenthal will be available to answer questions.
This is a two-day event, July 14-15, 2012. Please visit our temple website for more information: www.PasadenaBuddhistTemple.org.
