Percussion & Rhythm Workshop
Percussionist Scott Breadman leads this unique workshop for kids 9 and up. No musical experience is required, but this class will be extremely helpful to any musician looking to expand his or her understanding of rhythm and time. Hands-on instruction in basic note values, rhythm and tempo will be covered and how to apply them to any instrument. Each child will have the experience of playing and learning a wide variety of hand drums and percussion instruments. Besides popular American music, the class will also give students the opportunity to explore, learn, and play the music and rhythm's of other countries and cultures.
This is a fun and exciting way to understand and apply crucial concepts such as rhythmic note values, phrasing, meter, and tempo while learning and playing music from around the world.
