SPLL American League Orioles play for District 18 Championship after they seize victory thanks to late steal to home, drop Highland Park Braves, 4-3.
The South Pasadena Little League Orioles won an exciting Tournament of Champions District 18 semi-final game against the Highland Park Braves on Saturday, June
16th at Almansor Park in Alhambra.
The Orioles and Highland Park Braves passed the lead back and forth seven times on Saturday but in the end the Orioles pulled out a 4-3 win in six innings. A true testament to “team effort” from a tight knit group of 7-9 year old boys, they displayed focused pitching from Michael McGrath, Luke McGrath and Colin Sheng, along with skillful fielding with strategic plays throughout the game from the rest of the Orioles players. Hayden Draper stole home to give the Orioles the lead for good.

They play for the District 18 Championship title against the Los Angeles Shockers on Monday, June 18th at 7pm at Live Oak Park in Temple City.
