Few Leads Emerge In Mysterious South Pasadena Shooting

Police are looking for a man who opened fire on a young driver at stop light in South Pasadena early Monday.

SOUTH PASADENA, CA — Police on Tuesday continue to seek leads in a strange shooting in South Pasadena early Monday morning.

The incident happened just after 3 a.m. at a red light stop at Fremont Avenue and Alhambra Road, where the driver of a white van exited the vehicle and inexplicably began shooting at the 22-year-old driver who stopped behind him, the Pasadena Star-News first reported.

The victim escaped uninjured, and the attack appeared to be random and unrelated to road rage, South Pasadena police Sgt. Shannon Robledo told the newspaper.

A nearby resident called police after hearing the gunshots and police canvassed the area, finding the victim but no other evidence.
