It is official. Whitney Houston's version of "Do You Hear What I Hear" is playing on the radio. Which can only mean one thing--Holiday Season is in full swing! (And that Houston's rendition of that song still kills.)
And tomorrow is Turkey Day! Where gluttony meets thanks, you realize your eyes are always bigger than your stomach, and you have to ask at least one uncle at the table to refrain from unbuttoning his pants--because if you can't, why should he?
Here at Green Brooms Music Academy we have much to be thankful for. We are especially thankful for the wonderful community of South Pasadena that has made our first few months so welcoming. We absolutely love it here and are so grateful we were able to open a second location and start teaching music lessons in South Pas. As music enthusiasts and teachers alike, it has been a pleasure to see so many students excited to begin or continue learning to play. Two months in and we already have students taking voice, piano, drums, guitar, bass, fiddle, cello, banjo and violin lessons! It's only a matter of time before we meet some eager mandolin players.
If you haven't been in to take a tour of our facilities yet, please feel free to stop by and say hello. We'd love to meet you and introduce ourselves. And who knows, perhaps after enjoying some Coconut Chai tea with us, you might be inspired to pick up an instrument an take an introductory music lesson...
In any case, we hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and/or friends. And thank you again to everyone we have met thus far for making our opening here so great!
*A special announcement before I bid you farewell: some of our instructors and students will be caroling next Thursday, December 5th during the Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration at the South Pasadena Farmer's Market. Our carolers will be singing at 6:15pm, so be sure stop by our booth and enjoy some holiday tunes. (The East Coaster in me is really hoping some holiday miracle will make it snow. Fingers crossed.)
**Another quick announcement before I bid you farewell: we will be having our 2013 Winter Recital next Friday, December 6th @ 6pm at the South Pasadena Masonic Lodge! Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door. So if you are around the area, we welcome you to come check out what our students have prepared.
