Green Fair in Nature Park

Celebrate South Pas Nature Park's 10th anniversary on October 18, 2014, 9 am - 1 pm. Park tours, kids' activities, plant sale and much more.

In celebration of the South Pasadena Arroyo Seco Woodland and Wildlife Park’s decade anniversary, an Environmental Fair will be held in the park on October 18, 2014 from 9 AM to 1 PM. Over a dozen environmental and local non-profit groups will promote water conservation, habitat preservation and the continued protection of natural land along the Arroyo Seco. Posters and signs will provide information on environmental and natural features of the park, including plant identification. There will be activities for children, and a plant sale featuring low-water use California native plants.

The four-acre park is located along the Arroyo Seco, east of the historic York Boulevard Bridge. The entrance, marked by a small plaque on an attractive river rock wall, is in the 100 block of Pasadena Avenue. The park is graced with mature coast live oaks, southern walnuts and western sycamores. Planted with sage, buckwheat and other native coastal sage scrub plants, the park provides an inviting environment for birds, lizards, squirrels and numerous other critters. Locals too enjoy walking, jogging and horseback riding through the park.
