High Speed Chase From South Pasadena To Bakersfield Ends In Arrest
A 30-year-old man led police on a high speed chase from South Pasadena to Bakersfield.

SOUTH PASADENA, CA — A 30-year-old man who led authorities on a high- speed chase across Los Angeles County in a gray SUV made it to Bakersfield before being taken into custody, authorities said Saturday.
Whittier police wanted John Joseph Duarte for reckless driving and the California Highway Patrol took over the chase at 10:45 p.m. Friday on the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway at Fair Oaks Avenue in South Pasadena, said CHP Officer Alex Rubio.
Duarte eventually traveled out of the county at 11:25 p.m. on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway headed toward Bakersfield.

Duarte, a resident of Pico Rivera, was arrested at 12:19 a.m. on suspicion of felony reckless driving and was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
A CHP dispatcher said he was taken into custody in the Bakersfield area. No injuries were reported.
