I can only imagine

It's a mind thing

If you don’t think that driving up Pasadena Ave. towards the 210 freeway in Pasadena has any connection to the new Star Wars movie, ‘Rise of Skywalker,’ or even the Matrix movie, think again.

It’s that scene when Rey, (Skywalker) extends her arm upwards and uses her hand to control a space ship in the sky. That’s what I call will power. I imagined what it would be like to do such a thing, as I watched her do that.

Then there’s that scene in the Matrix where Neo, (Keanu Reeves) goes to see the Oracle. He waits in a room where a child is seen bending a spoon with his mind.

“Do not try to bend the spoon for that’s impossible,” the child says. “Instead only try to know the truth, there is no spoon.”

As I drive to work every morning on Pasadena Ave. I can’t help but notice a motorcycle police officer who patrols the area. He’s there like clockwork, pulling over drivers who are breaking the law in one way or another. I can always count on him being around there somewhere, except one morning. He wasn’t around. I didn’t see him anywhere. Maybe it was his day off. Like the child in the Matrix, I was noticing the truth, there was no motorcycle officer.

That’s when a fast-moving car decided to cut in front of me. The driver missed my front end by just a few inches. If you already had your morning coffee, then you know how that can give you the shakes.

“Where is that motorcycle officer?” I said sternly. “He needs to pull that guy over.”

Low and behold, just like that, there he was. Like a hero he appeared out of nowhere. I saw red and blue lights flashing as big as a space ship in the sky.
“How do you like me now? Mr. I have no consideration for anyone. Take that! And that!”
It was like I had summoned that officer out of a hidden space at my command. Oh, what a feeling. It was glorious.

My own movie filming right there on Pasadena Ave. I wonder what the other drivers' movies are as they drive to work along side of me. I can only imagine.
