Today’s Green Brooms blog is dedicated to Rebecca, one of our fantastic instructors who also happens to be a South Pasadena resident. Rebecca received her bachelor’s degree in voice and piano from John Brown University and went on to earn her master’s degree in opera performance from Witchita State University. She was a competitive swimmer for 15 years and was offered college scholarships for both piano and swimming. She is also an award-winning salsa dancer. What can’t she do? I have yet to figure that out.
At Green Brooms, Rebecca teaches both voice and piano lessons ranging from beginner to advanced students. She has been with us for five years in Santa Monica and now also teaches at our South Pasadena location. Rebecca is also director of our Spring and Winter recitals in both locations, coordinating over 150 student performances in the span of just two days. Basically, she’s fantastic and an instructor extraordinaire.
Side note, if you see someone walking down Fair Oaks with a maccaw, it’s probably her. And most Monday afternoons you can stop in to Green Brooms and say hello to Rio (the lovely maccaw...but we’d love to say hello as well).
