The South Paws-adena Dog Park is expected to open in early November.
SOUTH PASADENA, CA -- South Pasadena’s long awaited dog park is expected to open at Arroyo Park early next month with an official “leash-cutting ceremony.”
Last week the City Council approved a set of rules for the dog park and voted in favor of the adorably named ‘South Paws-adena Dog Park’ thanks to a naming contest held by Girl Scout Troop 11231. Runner-up contenders included: Bark Park, The Dog Spot, The Spot, Arroyo Seco Dog Park, South Paws Park, Paws Park, Unleashed Dog Park, Central Bark, Paws Park, Paws And Play, Scentral Park, Bow Wow Park, Barks and Recreation.
The new park will stay open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and owners must be in attendance at all times within the dog park while their dogs are present. Owners will have to immediately pick up their pup’s excrement prevent fido from digging holes or behaving aggressively toward other dogs or people. Owners can bring no more than three dogs per visit, according to the rules approved by the City Council. Anyone who violates the rules will be asked to leave.
