In response to the recent mass shooting in Isla Vista, California, community members are invited to come share their outrage over the current gun policy and write their legislators. The after of one of the shooting victims, Richard Martinez, asked everyone to stand up and fight against this madness. "Too many have died," he said. "Not one more!"
Organized by local artists and writers, this event welcomes community members to share their feelings of anger, sadness, helplessness and frustration. The gather will focus on creative action, making "Not One More" postcards, and offering a safe forum to lessen the burden of alienation and fear in the midst of the violence in our culture.
All postcards will be affixed to a SPACE gallery wall creating one giant mural. The following day the postcards will be mailed to legislators. Those attending the event are asked to contribute a small donation to cover postage for the postcards.
