Oakland Man Suspected Of Domestic Violence In South Pasadena

SOUTH PASADENA, CA -- An Oakland man was arrested Saturday in South Pasadena on suspicion of domestic violence heard by 911 dispatchers, authorities said. The woman called South Pasadena police at about 9 a.m. and officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1800 block of Oak Street, police said.

The woman who called left the line open and dispatchers could hear a female screaming "Don't touch me," and "Get away from me," police said.

The first officer on the scene could also hear the woman screaming and looked through a window to see a man holding and waving a knife toward the visibly upset woman, police said.

The officer ordered the man to drop the knife and he was arrested without further incident, police said.

The suspect was identified as Marquis Harmon, 29, of Oakland. He was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence, police said.

Harmon was booked into the Alhambra police jail and held in lieu of $50,000 bail, according to sheriff's inmate records.
