Photo Gallery: Public Safety Officers Run for Special Olympics

Members of local police and fire ran to raise money for Special Olympics Thursday.

Sworn officers of and went for a little run Thursday morning through town. In doing so, they raised money for the upcoming Special Olympics.

The annual run started at the Alhambra border where participants took the torch from Alhambra Police Officers and continued up Fair Oaks down Monterey Road across the York bridge to the Los Angeles border. There, our officers handed the torch off to members of the Union Pacific Police.

The local public safety officers where joined by Mayor Pro Tem Micheal Cacciotti, an avid runner. Police cars, fire trucks and three wheelers escorted runners as they were acknowledged by supporting motorists with waves and honks.
