Police Blotter: 6 Residential Burglaries

South Pasadena Police reported four apartment laundry room burglaries this week.

The following arrest information was supplied by the . It does not indicate a conviction.

Residential Burglary

Between 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1 and 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, on the 600 block of Prospect Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered an apartment laundry room, pried open a laundry machine and removed coins.

Between 12 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11 and 10 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, on the 800 block of Oneonta Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open a sliding door and removed jewelry from a residence.

Between 12 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12 and 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13, on the 500 block of Magnolia Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect forced open the door to an apartment laundry room, pried open a coin laundry machine and removed coins.

Between 10 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12 and 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13, on the 300 block of Pasadena Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open the door to an apartment laundry room and took coins from one of the machines.

Between 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12 and 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13, on the 1900 block of Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect forced open the door to an apartment laundry room and attempted to pry open a coin laundry machine.

Between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, on the 1800 block of Ramona Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open a door lock but failed to enter the residence.

Stolen Vehicle

Between 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9 and 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, on the 1200 block of Lyndon Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open the window of a ’96 Honda Accord and damaged the vehicle’s ignition. According to reports, the suspect removed a stereo from the vehicle.

Between 12 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, on the 1200 block of Huntington Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that a ’04 Toyota Camry was stolen.

Between 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10 and 8:39 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, on the 100 block of Monterey Road, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pulled open the window of a ’00 VW Bug and damaged the vehicle’s ignition. According to reports, the suspect removed coins from the vehicle.

Between 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14 and 7:45 a.m. on Nov. 15, on the 1100 block of Maple Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open the window of a ’97 Honda Accord and damaged the vehicle’s ignition.

Commercial Burglary

At 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, at on Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect sold a gold bracelet to a victim. According to reports, the victim later discovered that the bracelet is fraudulent. The suspect is described as a 30-year-old Hispanic female, approximately 5’ and 230 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Assault

At 5:22 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Football Field on Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect and victim got into a verbal argument. According to reports, the suspect hit the victim several times before school officials broke up the fight.

At 5:39 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, on the 600 block of Grand Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a witness and a suspect visited a victim at his residence. According to reports, the victim and suspect got into an argument and the suspect punched the victim several times before leaving The suspect is described as a 30-year-old Hispanic male, approximately 6’6” and 280 pounds, wearing a black shirt and gray shorts.

Daytime Loitering by a Minor

At 9:42 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, on the 1400 block of Exchange Lane, South Pasadena Police reported that an officer saw two juvenile suspects loitering on the street during school hours. South Pasadena Police arrested the two suspects.

Receiving Stolen Property

At 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, on the 1500 block of Diamond Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a victim had a hat stolen on Monday, Nov. 7 at According to reports, the victim saw a suspect wearing the stolen hat and asked for the hat back. Police reported the suspect threatened the victim and the victim called the police. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect. 

Child Annoyance

At 7:20 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, at  on El Centro Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a victim was in the library when he saw a suspect that assaulted him back in May 2011. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.  

Failure to Leave School Grounds

At 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at South Pasadena High School on Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect, who is not a student, was contacted several times by school officials to leave school grounds. According to reports, the suspect continued to return to the campus and possibly provoked a fight with students.

Theft

Between Saturday, May 14 and Monday, Nov. 14, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a victim’s rear porch and took a bicycle.

Between 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10 and 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, on the 1200 block of Huntington Drive, South Pasadena police reported that a unidentified suspect removed a tail light from a victim’s vehicle.

Between 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12 and 10:15 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, on the 400 block of El Coronado Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed an iPod and golf clubs.

Between 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12 and 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, on the 800 block of Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed an iPod, sunglasses and a jacket.

Between 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13, on the 90 block of Monterey Road, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed a tail light from a victim’s vehicle.

Between 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13 and 6 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, on the 1400 block of El Cerrito Circle, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed a purse from a victim’s unlocked vehicle.

Between 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14 and 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, on the 1100 block of Huntington Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed a portable GPS and keys.

D.U.I.

At 12:13 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the intersection of Fremont Avenue and Maple Street, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect driving under the influence of alcohol.

At 1:45 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, on the 700 block of Orange Grove Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect parked his vehicle and was sitting in the vehicle unconscious. According to reports, an officer contacted the suspect and found him to be under the influence of alcohol. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

At 2:15 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, on the 1600 block of Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect involved in a traffic collision that was under the influence of alcohol.

At 8:55 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, at the intersection of Hope Street and Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect involved in a traffic collision was driving under the influence of alcohol. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.
