Police Blotter: Residential Burglary, Vandalism and Theft
An unidentified suspect broke into South Pasadena Smog Pros twice in the past two weeks.

Between 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5 and 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, at the 1600 block of Huntington Drive, reported that a victim wired money to an unidentified suspect who called claiming to be the victim’s nephew. The suspect claimed he was arrested in the Dominican Republic. According to police reports, the victim also wired money to the suspect when the suspect called asking for more money to pay off medical bills.
At 3:16 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, at South Pasadena Smog Pros on Mission Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered the business by smashing the glass of the front door. The suspect then pried open the registers to remove cash. At 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed cash again after entering the business by smashing the front door.
At 4:57 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, at on Garfield Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect hid groceries in his pants and exited the store without paying. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

Between 6:09 p.m. and 7:27 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, on the 2000 block of Marengo Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a residence through an opened bedroom window and removed laptop computers, cash and jewelry.
Between 1 a.m. and 2:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, on the 400 block of Mission Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a victim returned home with an acquaintance; the victim discovered a purse was missing after the acquaintance left.

Between 7:45 a.m. and 6:05 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, on the 2000 block of Stratford Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a residence through an unlocked bedroom window and removed ipods, a computer and a television.
Between 9:57 a.m. and 10:59 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, on the 1600 block of Maple Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered an unlocked garage and removed a bicycle.
Between 9:37 p.m. and 10:04 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, on the 1000 block of Park Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a residence through an unlocked bedroom window.
Between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, on the 2000 block of Huntington Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered a business and removed a wallet while the victim was away from the front counter.
At 1:24 a.m. on Friday, April 8, on the 400 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect found driving under the influence of alcohol.
Between 8:31 a.m. and 8:46 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, on the 1200 block of Huntington Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered an 2000 Honda Civic and removed food, papers, gift cards and a lamp.
Between noon Saturday, April 9 and 9:18 a.m. Sunday, April 10, at on Oak Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect damaged wood paneling on the gymnasium floor.
Between 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, at a salon on the 600 block of Mission Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed a purse from behind the counter.
At 3:38 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, on the 600 block of Brent Avenue, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect found sitting in a vehicle intoxicated and unable to care for himself.
Between 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 9 and 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, at the Baseball Field on Diamond Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed a school banner from the dugout area.
At 11:34 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, on the 1200 block of Oak Hill Avenue, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect involved in a traffic collision who was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol.
Between 9:24 a.m. and 10:14 a.m. on Sunday, April 10, on the 200 block of Milan Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed a bicycle left unsecured on victim’s front lawn.
Between 8:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. on Monday, April 11, at the intersection of Mission Street and Meridian Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed a bicycle locked to a bike rack.
At 6:59 p.m. on Monday, April 11, at the intersection of Fair Oaks Avenue and Monterey Road, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect involved in a traffic collision who was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol.
At 1:58 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, on the 800 block of Arroyo Drive, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect with three outstanding warrants who was in possession of a stolen GPS device.
At 10:40 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, on the 1600 block of Amberwood Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that a witness saw a suspect remove a bicycle from a victim’s staircase and ride away. The suspect was described as a heavyset 20-year-old Hispanic male with light-brown hair wearing a gray sweatshirt and red plaid shorts.
Between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, on the 500 block of Magnolia Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect removed an unsecured bicycle from a victim’s front porch.
At 4:14 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, at the intersection of Atlantic Boulevard and Pine Street, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect driving with a suspended driver’s license and alse registration tabs on a vehicle.
