Police Blotter: Spike in Auto Burglaries

South Pasadena Police reported eight auto burglaries this week.

The following crime and arrest information was supplied by the . It does not indicate a conviction.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle

At 7:20 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, on the 1200 block of Pine Street, South Pasadena Police discovered a ’98 Nissan Maxima stolen from LAPD Northeast Division.

Stolen Vehicle

Between 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7 and 9:35 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8, on the 1700 block of Mission Street, South Pasadena Police reported that a ’99 Acura Integra was stolen.

Between 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, on the 200 block of St. Albans Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a ’06 Yamaha R6 was stolen.

Auto Burglary

Between 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1 and 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 2, on the 800 block of Park Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect pried open a ’01 Chevy Tahoe and removed a wallet.

Between 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4 and 10:20 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, on the 400 block of Garfield Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect smashed open the window of a ’09 Chevy Colorado and removed a GPS, iPhone and cooler containing tools.

Between 12:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 6 and 8:11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, on the 1100 block of Huntington Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect smashed the window of a ’04 Ford Focus.

Between 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6 and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, on the 1100 block of Maple Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect smashed the window of a ’02 Hyundai Accent.

Between 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6 and 10:36 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, on the 1100 block of Huntington Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect smashed the window of a ’01 Honda Civic and removed a wallet and photographs.

Between 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6 and 8 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, on the 2000 block of Via Del Rey, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect smashed the window of a ’05 Toyota Camry and removed a coat rack.

Between 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9 and 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, on the 1100 block of Oak Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect smashed the window of a ’09 Toyota Matrix and removed a portfolio.

Between 11 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9 and 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, on the 1100 block of Huntington Drive, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect smashed the window of a ’05 Hyundai Accent and removed a cell phone and duffel bag.

Commercial Burglary

At 9:40 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8, at  on Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect exited the store without paying for a cell phone. The suspect is described as a 25 to 30-year-old Black male, approximately 5’8” and 170 pounds wearing a tan hoodie and blue jeans.

Robbery 

At 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, on the 200 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police reported that three suspects approached a victim and demanded money. According to reports, the suspects took a scanner from the victim. The three suspects are described as 20 to 30-year-old Hispanic males wearing black and green jackets. 

Loitering

At 9:32 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, on the 1000 block of Monterey Road, South Pasadena Police arrested two juvenile suspects at a vacant residence.

False Registration Tabs

At 12:36 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at the intersection of Primrose Avenue and Main Street, South Pasadena Police arrested a suspect found driving with false registration tabs on a vehicle.

Disturbing the Peace

At 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, on the 100 block of Monterey Road, South Pasadena Police reported that a suspect challenged a victim to a fight.

Drunk in Public

At 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, on the 900 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, South Pasadena Police located an intoxicated suspect. According to reports, the suspect gave officers a false name. South Pasadena Police arrested the suspect.

Theft

Between 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6 and 3:10 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, on the 1400 block of Monterey Road, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered an apartment laundry room complex and removed a secured bicycle.

Between 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8 and 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, on the 2000 block of Cambridge Place, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect entered an unlocked vehicle and removed a wallet.

Vandalism 

Between 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7 and 8:42 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 8, on the 1700 block of State Street, South Pasadena Police reported that an unidentified suspect sprayed graffiti on a victim’s vehicle.
