Police Seek Man Who Stun Gunned and Robbed Elderly Woman
Police hope someone will recognize a pair seen using the stolen debit card of a 72-year-old woman shortly after she was violently robbed.
ALHAMBRA, CA — Police Friday sought the public's help in identifying suspects involved in the robbery of a 72-year-old woman who was assaulted outside her Alhambra home.
The woman arrived about 1 p.m. on Jan. 14 at her home in the 900 block of East Valley Boulevard and was getting out of her vehicle when she was approached by a Hispanic man in his 30s who was about 5 feet 10 inches tall and around 200 pounds, according to Alhambra police Sgt. Jerry Johnson.
"He was wearing a hard hat and reflective vest," Johnson said. "He asked her about an electrical box on the property.

When she turned away from him, the subject struck her with a stun gun on the back of her neck. This caused the victim to fall down and hit her head. The suspect stole the contents of her purse and fled on foot. The female victim was taken to an area hospital and received multiple stitches to her head."
About an hour later, a newer-model Jeep Grand Cherokee was recorded on surveillance video arriving at a Pico Rivera Wal-Mart, Johnson said.

"A male and female got out of the vehicle and entered the store," Johnson said. "The female attempted to purchase merchandise with the victim's stolen debit card but the transaction did not go through and was canceled. The two subjects then left the location together."
Anyone with information about the robbery or who can help identify the suspects in the surveillance video was urged to call the Alhambra police detective bureau at (626) 570-5157. An anonymous tip line is also available at (626) 308-4875.
