Police Warn Of Would-Be Kidnapper In Alhambra

A girl told police a man tried to lure her into his car with offers of candy and a puppy a she was walking home from school in Alhambra.

ALHAMBRA, CA — Authorities Friday were seeking a man who allegedly tried to lure a girl into his car in Alhambra.

The girl was walking home from Northrup School near Atlantic Boulevard and Mission Road about 1 p.m. Thursday when the man pulled up next to her in a car and asked her to get in, the Alhambra Police Department reported. The girl's age was not disclosed.

According to police, the man said, "Hey little girl ... I have a little white puppy and some Jolly Ranchers. Get in the car and I will give it to you."

The girl ran away and told her mother, who called police.

The man was described as Asian, in his 30s, with short black hair and dark eyes. He was driving a red, four-door Toyota, possibly a Corolla.
