Poor Air Quality Blankets San Gabriel Valley Monday
San Gabriel Valley residents were warned of unhealthy air quality Monday.
PASADENA, CA — Air quality will be unhealthy in the San Gabriel and Santa Clarita valleys Monday for people with breathing difficulties, the South Coast Air Quality Management District and L.A. County's Interim Health Officer warned.
Air quality in those areas will be unhealthful for sensitive groups, according to the air management district. People with heart disease, asthma or other respiratory diseases should minimize their outdoor activities in the problem areas, said Dr. Jeffrey Gunzenhauser, the county's interim health officer.
Schools whose student bodies include children with sensitive conditions should not allow these students to participate in outdoor physical activity, Gunzenhauser said.
