Power Outage Affects Thousands in South Pasadena

Thousands of customers in South Pasadena were left without power Thursday.

Thousands of residents in South Pasadena were left without power Thursday afternoon at the outset of a weekend heat wave.

The power outage affected about 4,200 Southern California Edison customers in South Pasadena and neighboring Alhambra, starting shortly after 1:30 p.m. Power was expected to be returned within two hours of the start of the outage.

By 9:30 p.m. power had been restored to all but 70 residents in the South Pasadena area.
