Search Intensifies For Missing 10-Year-Old Girl
A 10-year-old girl went missing from her school in Rosemead nine days ago, and authorities are asking for help finding her.

ROSEMEAD, CA — Los Angeles Sheriff's detectives and the caretakers of a little girl who disappeared from her Rosemead school nine days ago are begging for the community's help in finding her.
Ten-year-old Cynthia Wheeler-Villanueva was last seen leaving her school in the 7500 block of Emerson Place at about 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 9, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The child was living in the Maryvale Girls Home, an emergency and temporary shelter for kids removed from their guardians by social services. Authorities fear she may have run away from the facility.
Cynthia is about 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighs about 105 pounds, Schrader said, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. She wears her brown hair in a bun, has brown eyes and wears earrings. She was last seen wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans and black and pink shoes.

Anyone with information regarding the girl's whereabouts was urged to call the sheriff's Missing Persons Unit at (323) 890-5500 or 911.
Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
