The Shops at Montebello to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15 to October 15, The Shops at Montebello is hosting numerous special events throughout the month in recognition of the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.

Key components of the celebration include:

• Saturday, September 20, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Center Court - Kidgits Pirate Adventure event includes family fun and free churros for kids.
• Saturday, September 20, at 2 p.m. inside Macy’s children’s department - Face painting, live musical and dance performances and a special reading of “Rosita and Conchita” with drawing lessons by the book’s illustrator.
• Thursday, September 25, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Center Court - LA Dodger Miguel Rojas appearance featuring meet and greet and photo opportunities.
• Saturday, September 27 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Center Court - AMP Radio 97.1 on-site with a free ticket giveaway, entertainment and more.
• Saturday, October 4, from noon to 1:00 p.m. in Center Court - Mariachi Kids Performance.
• Saturday, October 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Super Estrella 107.1 on-site in Center Court featuring radio personality, music and giveaways.
• All Month: Biographies of prominent Hispanic-American figures like astronaut Ellen Ochoa, U.S. Cabinet Secretary Hilda Solis, Activist Cesar Chavez, Actress Rita Moreno, and many more will be placed throughout the center.
