SOUTH PASADENA LITTLE LEAGUE TO HOLD SPRING SEASON TRYOUTS ON JANUARY 10

South Pasadena Little League (SPLL) is holding tryouts for the 2015 spring season on Saturday, January 10 starting at 8:30 a.m. Baseball will be at South Pasadena High School (schedule below) with softball tryouts happening at Orange Grove Park, 8:45 am for Minors, 9:15 am for Majors.

Players trying out should wear athletic clothing and rubber cleats (metal cleats are OK for the Junior division), bring a ball glove, and a bat (bats will be available for those who don’t have their own). Tryouts will test hitting, running, and fielding/throwing (ground/fly balls).

ALL PLAYERS, including returning Major and Junior players, must try out in order to be drafted to a team.

Please adhere to your scheduled time. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled tryout time to warm up and sign in. Please budget plenty of time because your actual tryout time may be delayed. If you are unable to attend at your allotted time or have questions, please contact Sam Alison (bbmajorsagent@spll.com) or Adolfo Schroeder (bbminorsagent@spll.com). You will be assigned an alternate time for the same day. No make up date has been established. Please check the SPLL website: www.spll.com regularly for schedule updates, maps and in case of rain.

Returning Major players and all 12-year-old players will be drafted into the Major division. All 10 & 11 year-old players who did not play Majors last year will be placed in either the National or Major divisions based on the draft.

8-year olds will be assigned to Machine-Pitch team or drafted to a hardball kid-pitch (American) team based on tryout and draft. Any 8-year old player who does not try out will be assigned to a machine pitch team. 10- and 9-year olds will be assigned to American or National division based on the draft. It is possible that a 10-year old will play in Majors if drafted.
